Instructions for Workshop Authors

What is a workshop?

A workshop is more in-depth than a tutorial. Preferably, it involves active learning activities (hands-on or "pen-and-paper" exercises). The presenter is an "expert" in the field. Workshops are usually 3 hours long, and are held before the conference. Abstracts of accepted workshops will be published in the Journal of Computing Sciences in Colleges, which is included in the ACM Digital Library. Workshop abstracts must not exceed a length of two single spaced pages.

What should the proposal contain?

Workshop abstracts must include:

Important dates for workshop authors

Workshop Abstract Submission Deadline: December 5, 2011
Acceptance Notification: January 11, 2012
Camera-ready Copy Due: January 31, 2012

How should the proposal be formatted?

Your submission must be in Microsoft Word format or a PDF file (note that LaTeX is not accepted). For accepted proposals, a camera-ready copy must be submitted as both a Word document and a PDF file. When using Word, do not change its default formatting settings.
