CCSCNE has a tradition of recognizing excellence. Over the years, we have instituted several awards in the context of our annual conference. We are pleased to present winners of those awards on this page.
Best Paper Awards have been presented since 1997. During the blind-review process, reviewers are invited to identify papers that they believe are worthy of the award. Based on their recommendations, a few papers are short-listed. During the conference, a panel of judges attends the presentations of all the papers in the short-list and ranks them.
Best Poster Awards are presented to student poster presenters. Students present posters on their work at a designated time during the conference. All conference attendees are invited to rank the posters. Authors of the highest ranked posters are presented with the award.
Student Programming Contest Awards have been presented since 2001. Teams of up to three students have to solve five problems in three hours. The contest is fashioned after the ACM programming contest.
At CCSCNE 2000, on the fifth anniversary of CCSCNE, the board presented an award for "Outstanding Contribution to CCSCNE" to Ingrid Russell, University of Hartford, CT, for her leadership role in initiating the northeastern region of CCSC.
